Dry Needling with Electrical Stimulation
Dry Needling With Electrical Stimulation
Dry needling is part of a western medicine treatment technique that is supported by research and used to target relief in specific areas of muscles and tendons pain.
Dry Needling is an intervention using a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points and muscular and connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.
Association with Tendon and myofascial or Trigger Point Dry Needling Therapy, electrical stimulation or e-stim, an electrical current transferred through the dry needle that can help accelerate the pain-relief process.
High frequency is one form of e-stim we use for our dry needling patients. On low-frequency will helps stimulate smooth muscle fibers to increase blood flow, which helps heal specific muscles or areas of inflammation more quickly.
Dry Needling with Electrical Stimulation is a procedure done to promote the healing process in an area of a particular muscle knot. The procedure stimulates blood flow to the area which brings with it growth factors that trigger stem cell recruitment, stimulation of fibroblasts, and induction of the healing cascade.
